Vakow! is a community for SMS blogging and sharing. Over here you can:

1. Start your SMS blog
2. "Follow" your friends (or tags you like) and receive their SMSes
3. Find cool SMSes to share with your friends on phone, email or various social networks.
4. Send personal SMSes to any phone in India

All for FREE!

How does it work?

It's easy (and extremely fun) to start using Vakow!. You can use our web interface or post your SMS from your mobile.

Once you post that interesting SMS of yours, we forward it to your followers. Your followers can comment on it from their mobile or on the web.

We also let other users rate it, tag it, and share it with their friends on phone, email or various social networks.

Why would I like to do that?

Because you, just like us, would like to express yourself wherever you are. And you, just like us, would like to know what you're friends are upto all the time. And you, just like us, would like to receive and share cool SMSes.

Do I need to register to post or follow a user or a tag?

Not really. You can start posting your SMSes to 99015 54321 or follow a user or tag (follow username/tag to 99015 54321) straight from your phone without registration.

We would still strongly recommend online registration as it provides more features and controls.

Is it FREE?

Yes! You can post, follow and access all Vakow! features through our website absolutely FREE of cost. It's only when you send an SMS to Vakow! number (99015 54321) from your phone (while you're posting etc.) that you incur the cost of a regular non-premium SMS.

How much will it cost me to send an SMS to Vakow! number?

Vakow! has a regular 10-digit phone number and it'll cost you exactly the same amount as it does when you send an SMS to your friend. It's not a premium number or a shortcode and your regular SMS charges are applicable.

Why is your number so long and not a 4/5 digit?

We have opted for a 10 digit number so that when you send an SMS to Vakow! you don't have to pay premium SMS charges (which is the case with shorter phone numbers).

How will I remember it?

It's easy. 9-9-0-1-5 5-4-3-2-1. Actually, you should just store it in your phone's addressbook as Vakow!.

Does it work only in India?

Yes. Currently we're in India only but if you'd like to see us in your country, send us a mail.

Is my phone number safe on Vakow!?

Absolutely! Your phone number will never be shared with any third party or be made visible on our website to anyone other than you. When your followers receive your SMSes they only see your username.

We only display your phone number when you send a personal SMS to your friend, so that he or she can identify you.
