Why don't you allow us to forward SMSes with score less than +2?

We would like you to share high quality SMSes through Vakow! And hence we believe that at least a score of +2 (your vote and any other community member's vote) is necessary to make an SMS share-worthy for everyone.

However, we forward the SMS that you post to your blog immediately (without any score requirements) to your followers (as they have agreed to receive SMSes from you) and if you want to send a personal SMS to your friends, you can do that as well.

I rated an SMS but there was no change in the score. Why?

You can not rate an SMS that you have already rated. If you try to rate an SMS again it will not result in any change in the score.

What are tags?

Tags are like keywords. Users can tag SMSes on Vakow! with appropriate keywords. e.g. A funny SMS about cricket could be tagged funny, cricket.

Why should I tag?

Tags result in a better organisation of your SMSes so its easy for you and others to search for a particular type of SMS.

How do I tag?

Visit the SMS page and click on 'Add a tag' link on the right and enter the tags that you think are appropriate in the textbox. You can also enter tags while posting your SMS from the web.

I tagged an SMS, it says 'to be approved'. What?

Any time you tag an SMS it needs to be approved by our editors so that appropriateness of the tag is double-checked.

I tagged an SMS. It was 'flagged'. Why?

This happens in rare cases when the tag that you have suggested is found to be inappropriate for the SMS.

What is a Flagged SMS?

Any SMS that is found to be inappropriate for public consumption is 'Flagged' and is not displayed to our users without their explicit approval. In such case, 'Forward this SMS' feature is modified such that the SMS can only be forwarded to oneself.

How do I Flag an SMS?

Visit the SMS page and look for the red 'Flag this SMS' link at the bottom right of the page.

Who is this anonymous fellow?

As you know, on Vakow! one can start doing a bunch of things from phone even without registration.

One can start posting SMSes from phone (by sending your SMS to 99015 54321) or follow a user or a tag ( follow <username/tag> to 99015 54321). In such cases, because we don't know this fellow's name, he or she is anonymous to us.

Later when this fellow signs up (which btw is FREE and take no time at all), we'll display his or her username instead of anonymous.

Will I be able to claim my SMSes if I start posting as anonymous and sign up later?

Yes, of course; and you will not have to do any work at all. All the SMSes that you post as anonymous automagically appear in your collection when you sign up.

In fact, you can ask your friends who are not yet on Vakow! to start posting (instead of deleting the SMSes from phone) and sign up later (whenever they're online).

In Personal Messages, why do you show someone instead of the names of the people who forwarded me SMSes through Vakow!?

Because earlier we were not storing it. :-( These are the people who forwarded you SMSes without logging in the website and at that time we did not store their name or email address.

Needless to say, we have started to do that now and from now on credentials of everyone (logged in or logged out) who forwards you an SMS via Vakow! will be shown in your inbox.

I used 'Forward this SMS' or 'Personal SMS' feature to send an SMS to a friend but it says "..could not be sent..". Why?

Chances are that your friend is not a registered member of Vakow!. We don't allow more than 5 SMSes to be sent to a non-registered members through these features.

If you want to share SMSes with your friend please do ask him or her to sign up (it takes no time at all).

Why isn't the auto-scrap feature working?

Most likely the very nice fellows at Orkut changed something on their website because of which our feature isn't functional for now. You can manually copy-paste the code (if you want) to your friend's scrapbook or kill time otherwise on our website while we work to get the feature up and running again.

Why should I copy-paste the code when I can just copy-paste the SMS?

Because you love us! That code carries a tiny message at the bottom that goes like 'Sent via www.vakow.com' which will help spread the word about us.

Not just that, your friend will also get to know about your secret source of awesome SMSes and can find an SMS to post to your scrapbook.
